The Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred were ordinary citizens – entrepreneurs, pensioners, students – united by their love for Ukraine as they stood up for democracy, dignity, and Ukraine’s European integration.
On February 20, 2014, the largest number of protesters were killed, mostly by snipers. On the same day, Russia began its war against Ukraine by launching the invasion of Crimea.
The Revolution of Dignity was a fight for a democratic future for Ukraine, built on justice and dignity. The collective singing of Ukraine’s national anthem became one of its key symbols. Every word of Ukraine’s anthem echoes the spirit of the Maidan Revolution, which continues to guide Ukrainians in their fight against Russian ongoing aggression.
Eternal Memory and Glory to the Heroes!
