Representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria held a meeting with Ms. Beatrice Eyong, UN Women Country Representative to Nigeria.

During the meeting, Ms. Eyong briefed the Ukrainian side on the main areas of UN Women’s work in Nigeria, including the protection of the rights of women and girls, the expansion of their economic opportunities, the prevention of gender-based violence, and the strengthening of women’s participation in the country’s social and political life.

The Ukrainian side provided information on Ukraine’s state policy aimed at ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, as well as on the country’s efforts to strengthen the role of women, particularly amid Russia’s full-scale aggression and in addressing its consequences.

The parties paid particular attention to possible areas of cooperation between the Embassy of Ukraine and the UN Women Country Office in Nigeria. They confirmed their mutual interest in continuing the dialogue and developing practical cooperation.
