On 26 February, Ambassador Ivan Kholostenko held a meeting with the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Mr. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, GCON.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Nigeria, including opportunities to intensify contacts between the two parliaments, strengthen dialogue between the respective committees and parliamentary friendship groups.

Particular attention was paid to prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the areas of economy, education, agriculture, and humanitarian initiatives. The Ambassador of Ukraine briefed the Nigerian side on the current situation in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of upholding the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of states in accordance with the UN Charter.

The Ukrainian side expressed its interest in deepening constructive dialogue with the National Assembly of Nigeria and confirmed its readiness for further systematic engagement at the inter-parliamentary level.
