Ahead of the tragic date — the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine — the Ambassador of Ukraine to Nigeria Ivan Kholostenko emphasized: for four years Ukraine has been living under the conditions of a large-scale war. And for four years it has demonstrated remarkable resilience and courage.

During this time, Ukraine thwarted the plan for the rapid capture of its capital, liberated significant territories, and continues to contain the aggressor. 

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have become among the most capable and experienced in Europe, demonstrating the ability to adapt quickly to modern high-tech warfare. The use of innovative solutions, unmanned systems, robotic platforms, and advanced technologies has become an integral part of the new reality of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

At the same time, Ukraine seeks peace. A just peace — with the full withdrawal of Russian troops, accountability for war crimes, and the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

This anniversary is a reminder: the war against Ukraine has global consequences. For Ukraine, it is a struggle for independence. For the world, it is a test of whether international law and the system of collective security can withstand open aggression.

Ukraine has endured. And it continues to fight.
