On September 1, 2017 the Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria held a reception on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine.

Representatives of the political, parliamentary, business circles, foreign diplomatic missions and Ukrainians living in Nigeria participated in the event.

In his speech Ambassador Valerii Aleksandruk informed the participants about the achievements of Ukraine during the years of Independence, successes on the path of European integration and implementation of reforms, the current state and prospects of developing bilateral relations with Nigeria, and also called to increase pressure on the Russian Federation to end the aggression against Ukraine.
