On March 16, 2016, Ambassador of Ukraine Valerii Aleksandruk held a press- conference with representatives of leading media of Nigeria: The Guardian, The Sun, Daily Trust, The Authority, Leadership, the national television channel NTA.

The participants of the conference were informed of the state and prospects of Ukraine-Nigeria relations.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to increase pressure on Russia in the context of the ongoing aggression against Ukraine, the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the release of political prisoners in Ukrainian, in particular, Nadiya Savchenko.

Leading Nigerian media were given corresponding information materials, including the letter of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroysman from March 9, 2016 to Heads of the Parliaments of the member states of the United Nations.
