Born on 20th June 1968, in Odesa region, Ukraine.

Started his diplomatic career within the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Since than Ambassador I.Kholostenko has been serving in a several Ministerial divisions, including the Legal Department, the Human Resources Management Department and the State Protocol Department.
Also, Ambassador has been working in a number of diplomatic missions, namely Embassy of Ukraine in the Russian Federation (Second Secretary, First Secretary), Embassy of Ukraine in the Slovak Republic (Counsellor, Chargé d’affaires), Consulate of Ukraine in Brno (Consul, Head of the Consulate).
Except for the Ministry of foreign affairs, Ambassador has worked for the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the State Export-Import Bank of Ukraine.
On 26th December 2022 was appointed as the Ambassador of Ukraine to Nigeria.
On 15.12.2023 presented Letters of Credence to H.E. President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On 27.03.2024 presented Letters of Credence to H.E. Omar Touray, President of the ECOWAS Commission.
